Why these seven?

I chose these books because they're the ones I remember most. Whenever I'm thinking about the books I have read or plan on finishing, these ones tend to pop up in my thoughts. They have a fair few differences, but they have all made an impact on their genres and liturature as a whole, making them easy to think a lot about. I chose Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and King Leopold's Ghost as my top two next reads because I know they're important books and that they interest me, but I know very little about what's actually in them. These two also share what may be the connecting trait with most of what I read, being that they're either rather old or discuss things that are rather old.
